At three o'clock in the morning, Liam Tang opened his eyes in the dark and stared at the darkness in front of him for a long time.
It was as if there was a taut string inside his body, being pulled by forces at both ends. It seemed that if it was stretched any tighter, the string would break completely, but he didn't know how to relax himself.
Maybe cigarettes would have some effect? After all, he fell asleep before he finished smoking a cigarette in the car last time. He got out of bed, took out half a pack of cigarettes from the locker, lit it, and sat on the windowsill to smoke.
The road outside the window was quiet, with one or two cars speeding by occasionally. He finished his cigarette, but he still didn't feel sleepy at all.
Liam Tang put out his cigarette and threw the half-pack back onto the coffee table. How could he not know that falling asleep in Ethan Yang's car that night had nothing to do with nicotine?
