Ethan Whitlock laughed and said, "What do the Huzis need an old lady like you for? Are they short of a mother? If you were a few years younger, maybe you could be their wife." The old lady said, "I don't dare to think about being their wife. But the Huzis' nest is also like a home. Someone has to raise chickens, feed pigs, cook, wash dishes and so on. Isn't it just right for me, an old lady, to do these jobs?" Ethan Whitlock looked at the old lady and felt something was wrong.

The old lady smiled and said, "Boss, your heart is beating fast, right?" Ethan Whitlock smiled and said, "Grandma, you are quite interesting." The old lady said, "It's not lively if I don't talk or laugh. My old bones can fall apart with a cough. How can I use them as a beard? Boss, let me ask you something. You knew that Erlongshan was not peaceful, so why did you dare to go there?"

Ethan Whitlock said, "Well, I have to do the job assigned by the boss even if it costs me my head. I have a big family to support, so I have to go through the mountains of swords." At some point, another large cart came up from behind, with several men on it. Ethan Whitlock moved his cart aside, and the cart behind passed him. The people on that cart shouted, "Boss, hurry up while the sun is still high. It's getting late, and the bandits will rob you." Ethan Whitlock said, "I want to hurry up too. Don't you see that the cart is loaded with wine? If I go too fast, the jars will break." The old lady stared at Ethan Whitlock for a long time, and Ethan Whitlock was a little dazed.

The old lady said: "Looking at you, I think of someone. How come you look so much like him!" Ethan Whitlock said: "Who is he?" The old lady said: "Don't worry about you laughing at me. He was my lover when I was young." Ethan Whitlock said: "Where is he now?" Looking at the sun that was about to set, the old lady sighed and said: "Well, he died a long time ago..."

The road was lined with trees, and the wind blew through them, making a rustling sound. Ethan Whitlock became alert, and kept looking into the trees on both sides of the road. The old lady saw everything and said in a soft voice, "Actually, the bearded men are not monsters, and they don't want to make things difficult for the poor. As long as we leave the things they want, they can't make things difficult for us."
