The first people to go in search of the paper-making monk were the few students from the Imperial College who had wanted to compete with Adrian in Zen when he was giving a lecture. They had always been frequent visitors to the Washe, and after hearing this story and seeing that the trend of appreciating the four treasures of the study had become popular recently, they went to the Daxiangguo Temple.
However, there were so many people in Daxiangguo Temple, and there were countless monks alone, without any distinctive features. They walked around for a long time but still had no idea where the paper-making monk was.
At noon, they discussed and decided to go have lunch first. After lunch, they went to see the abbot, hoping to get some clues from him.
When they arrived at the abbot's meditation room, the students were surprised to find that the abbot was copying Buddhist scriptures. Among the papers he was using were tender Bodhi leaves covered in a thin paper pulp, looking lifelike. Isn't this the indigo paper mentioned in the storybooks?
They suddenly felt as if they had found something without any effort after searching for a long time. They immediately explained that they came here because they had heard that there was wonderful indigo paper here, so they came to look for the paper maker. They didn't find the paper maker, but they did see the abbot using indigo paper.
