Adrian Xu and the League of Schools Chapter 4

There were a lot of people in the office at this time, all of them were class representatives who came to the office to hand in their homework after the flag-raising ceremony. But this sound was really hard to ignore, like a sudden burst of cool air on a hot summer day.

It was hard to ignore and even sounded familiar, so much so that Adrian Xu could hear the word "report" very clearly in this place that was as noisy as a vegetable market.

"You're here just in time," Richard Meng put down his water cup, "Have you collected all the homework?"

"One copy missing."

Adrian Xu lowered his eyes nonchalantly, first seeing a gray-blue corner of a school uniform, then the person beside him put a stack of homework on the table. Adrian Xu then moved his eyes two inches upwards and saw a bony hand lying across his eyes.

The wrist bones are prominent and the fingers are very long.

Richard Meng wanted to ask who was missing, but when he saw the person who just came down from the review desk, he realized that this question didn't need to be asked at all, and said, "You took a leave yesterday, and you are not familiar with the people in the class. It just so happens that this person who didn't hand in his homework is here, you two... get to know each other, so it will be convenient to collect homework in the future."

"I never turn in my homework, which is not very convenient."

As Adrian Xu was speaking, he saw the face of the academic genius beside him. Nathan Shao also happened to look at him when he heard his words. When their eyes met, the remaining words in his mouth, "Is there anything else?", changed their tone: "...Why is it you?"

It’s still that school uniform that’s too formal.

The boy has fair skin and unusually black hair, so his facial features are actually very prominent. It is only through his cold expression of "stay away from me" that he dilutes some of the aggressiveness brought by his facial features. When he stands there, it seems as if he is separated from his surroundings.

Adrian Xu's previous question about "Is the No. 6 Middle School uniform so good-looking?" was answered, because among so many people wearing school uniforms in the office, he was the only one who stood out.

Richard Meng was so overjoyed that he could not express his joy in words: "Do you know each other?"

It's more than just knowing each other.

There are even festivals.

The two answered almost at the same time---

Adrian Xu: "I guess so."

Nathan Shao: "I don't know him."

Adrian Xu: "?"

Nathan Shao said this "I don't know him" without any emotion and in an extremely cold tone.

Richard Meng was a little confused by the two of them, wondering at a loss whether they knew each other or not.

Adrian Xu couldn't describe his mood at the moment. He had been writing a self-criticism all night, gritting his teeth as he wrote. He thought that if he knew who it was, he might rush into the other person's dormitory in the middle of the night and beat him up under the covers. But the other person didn't remember anything about it at all.

"Dormitory building, 3,000 words of self-criticism," Adrian Xu said, "or let me be more specific, wall."

Nathan Shao took a leave yesterday and rushed to school by bus in the evening. When he arrived at the dormitory building, he saw someone climbing over the wall. He really didn't care who it was. There were many people coming in and out of the dormitory building, and there were also many people who changed out of their school uniforms after returning to the dormitory. Only then did he connect the person in front of him with the person who just walked to the flag-raising platform across a long row and caused a sensation in the whole school after he opened his mouth and said the first sentence.

Nathan Shao obviously had nothing to say. He lowered his eyes and looked at him, reluctantly commenting on the review: "The review is not bad."

Adrian Xu: ...You say?

Adrian Xu's current mood can be described as a capital "Fcuk".

Richard Meng didn't understand and decided to get straight to the point: "You two want

Yes, that's great. It's like this. Several students in the class have applied to change seats. I plan to make some minor adjustments to the seating list of our class. The initial plan is to let you two sit together. Do you have any objections?"

The two spoke at the same time again---

But this time they had a perfect understanding.

"have."

Adrian Xu really couldn't stay in the office anymore. In front of him was the new head teacher who was thinking about introducing him to his classmates, and next to him was the classmate with whom he had just had a feud yesterday.

He was afraid that he was irrational.

"Teacher, this student Nathan Shao and I," Adrian Xu didn't know what to say, and finally managed to say, "We are Fcuking not suitable for each other."

Richard Meng: ...

"People are bound to each other, and a forced marriage is not a happy one. I get along well with my current deskmate, we love each other, the atmosphere is harmonious, and we share the same interests. I sleep while he attends class, and neither of us affects the other."

Richard Meng tried to interrupt him.

Adrian Xu added: "Students who come here reluctantly will not have a good relationship."

...

Adrian Xu himself felt that this was getting weirder and weirder, so he changed the subject and simply opened the office door: "Anyway, I have already written my self-criticism. As for the punishment, you can do whatever you want. If there is nothing else, I will go back to class."

This was the second time Richard Meng was confronted by Adrian Xu like this. His attitude showed that he refused to communicate and would not listen to any advice or persuasion. He wanted to preach but couldn't find a way to start.

One left, and the other was left. Richard Meng calmed down and turned to Nathan Shao: "You don't want to be his deskmate?"

"yes."

Richard Meng hit two walls today and finally managed to calm down: "Can I ask for the reason?"

Nathan Shao's reason was much more realistic. It was simply because changing seats was too troublesome, and he had no interest in getting to know anyone: "It's troublesome."

Richard Meng's Belt and Road Initiative did not even take the first step and was stillborn.

If Adrian Xu is difficult to get along with, in fact, in Richard Meng's opinion, Nathan Shao is the one who is really difficult to get along with.

Richard Meng first met Nathan Shao when he was in the first year of high school. Although he did not teach first-year high school students, he was in charge of various competitions for the high school group.

After registering for the math competition, evening self-study training began. He was the only freshman in the entire conference room. With the mentality that participation is Victor Guy, Richard Meng specially prepared a set of basic competition questions for him.

As a result, the boy sat in the last row for less than ten minutes before he raised his hand, walked up with the test paper, and slapped the test paper filled in in front of him: "Next time, you don't have to prepare basic questions for me."

During the more than one month preparation period for the competition, he kept to himself and did not make enemies with anyone, but he also did not seem to have a good relationship with anyone. The look on his face when he stared at the test paper was much warmer than when he looked at everyone in the conference room.

Richard Meng was silent for two seconds, and planned to implement the plan from another angle: "Okay, there is one more thing. You were not here yesterday, and our class committee members have not been elected yet. Is there any position you would like to take?"

"I have to prepare for the competition afterwards, so I may not have the time or energy."

Nathan Shao blocked Richard Meng's words.

But Richard Meng refused to give up easily. He slapped his thigh and said, "It's a coincidence that the position I reserved for you doesn't require any time or energy."

Nathan Shao heard that the head teacher was determined

I want him to be the class committee member: "You decide."

Richard Meng said happily: "Our class is just in need of a discipline committee member!"

"Will it not take much time? It's just right. You take care of Adrian Xu... No, when you are in charge of discipline, pay special attention to Adrian Xu in our class.⁂Xuanhuan Literature_⁂"

Richard Meng: "He might skip classes, climb over the wall, stay out all night, fight outside the school..."

When Adrian Xu returned to class, he didn't know that Richard Meng was planning a big move behind the scenes.

Tyler Zhang heard that the God of Study had come to class today after his day off, so he leaned over the window of Class 7 after morning exercises and looked out. Adrian Xu was not there, so he went to chat with Adrian Xu's deskmate: "Warrior, why do I always pass by the God of Study? Is it true that we are not destined to be together?"

Adrian Xu's deskmate is a boy wearing glasses. He looks weak and gentle, but his nickname is Warrior.

In addition, it was also because he dared to sit next to Adrian Xu and successfully survived for two days.

In fact, Li Mingyong was not that brave at all. Due to a temporary breakdown of the bus, he arrived late and was sitting right next to Adrian Xu, so he had no choice.

The moment he walked into Class 7, he almost wanted to end his high school career on the spot.

Li Mingyong also had awe for this school bully's friend: "The school god has gone to the office, you can come back next class."

Tyler Zhang: "Why are you shaking when you speak? How do you feel about sitting at the same table with our boss?"

Just now, Adrian Xu described the group in the teacher's office as "loving each other, harmonious atmosphere, and like-minded"

My desk mate Li Mingyong said in his heart: I want to drop out of school.

"Our boss never hits anyone and rarely scolds anyone. He is very civilized," Tyler Zhang said. "There is no need to be so scared."

As they were talking, Adrian Xu just walked to the window. He did not enter the classroom, but stood next to Tyler Zhang, leaning against the window sill and asked, "What are you afraid of?"

Tyler Zhang: "I'm talking about you. Your deskmate seems to be quite afraid of you."

Adrian Xu had no self-awareness at all. He thought he had done nothing these days. He either slept or played with his phone in class. When he was punished to stand outside, he could create an absolutely quiet learning atmosphere for his deskmate. So what he said to Richard Meng was not entirely a lie: "I have a good relationship with my deskmate."

After Adrian Xu finished speaking, he asked again: "Isn't that right, Li Yong?"

Li Mingyong: ...

Tyler Zhang: "His name is Li Mingyong, and even I, who is in the same class as him, remembered it. What's wrong with you?"

Adrian Xu touched his nose and avoided the topic. He had been busy this morning and hadn't eaten yet. Now he realized that he was hungry: "Is there anything to eat?"

Tyler Zhang took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket.

Adrian Xu glanced at him.

Tyler Zhang put the cigarette back consciously. This school bully from No. 6 Middle School doesn't smoke, but smoking doesn't fit in with his character at all.

Tyler Zhang searched in his pocket for a long time before pulling out a lollipop: "This is all I have. It was given to me by the canteen as a gift when I bought cigarettes. Did you miss breakfast?"

"I was busy writing my self-criticism last night and overslept this morning." Adrian Xu, who had his elbows on the window, took the lollipop and turned around, peeling off the candy wrapper with his back to the window. "What are you doing hanging around in Class 7 again?"

Tyler Zhang didn't have time to finish his sentence "I came here to see a joke. Didn't you say you wouldn't get caught?" The bell for class rang. He walked backwards in a hurry, saying, "Let's stop talking. The next class is Mr. Li's. If I come in a second late, he will skin me alive."

Adrian Xu put one hand in his trouser pocket, waved at him casually, and then walked into the classroom with a candy in his mouth.

He was sitting on a chair, and only now did he remember to check what class this was. He leaned back and squinted his eyes, only to find that the corner of the blackboard was blocked by a person. He could only see the topmost button of his school uniform, the boy's protruding Adam's apple, black hair, and a cold expression.

When Nathan Shao walked to the back of the classroom, the angle was different and Adrian Xu could see clearly that the word "mathematics" was written on the blackboard.

Adrian Xu crushed the candy in his mouth in a few bites, and then he leaned back on the chair with his head down to flip through the book on the table. His book was still in the same condition as when he brought it home, with not even his name written on the title page.

As I was flipping through the pages, I heard someone in the class exclaim, and then the whole class started whispering.

Adrian Xu didn't raise his eyes, but he noticed that the sunlight coming in from the window was blocked by someone. He was originally immersed in the sunlight, but now it suddenly became dark as if the weather had changed, and a large shadow was cast on the table.

He was forced to raise his head.

Nathan Shao walked past the first few rows of students and did not go back to his seat. He walked to the other side of the aisle, leaned over slightly, and pinched the stick of the lollipop that Adrian Xu was holding with two fingers. Adrian Xu was startled, and the white plastic stick was directly taken away by Nathan Shao: "No candy in class."
