COMAC, namely Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd.
Since airplanes became a common means of transportation for the public, the two major American aircraft manufacturers, Boeing and McDonnell Douglas, have occupied the market and almost monopolized the global civil aircraft manufacturing market. In the 1970s, four European countries jointly established Airbus to develop civil aircraft on their own, hoping to share the same market share with American aircraft manufacturers. In addition, there are several relatively small aircraft manufacturers such as McDonnell Douglas and Embraer, which occupy a small market share.
China was much slower than the West in aircraft manufacturing, and it was not until the beginning of this century that COMAC was established.
China wants to manufacture its own aircraft, and has made some progress in the past decade, but most domestic airlines still choose aircraft from Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and Airbus. Firstly, the aircraft manufactured by the latter are of high quality, good value for money, and secondly, COMAC has only been established for 13 years, and its aircraft manufacturing level is indeed not as good as that of the West.
When Ethan Fu and Patrick Zhuo arrived at COMAC T1 factory, the staff were already waiting at the door.
