Captain Li asked the boy in advance for something with the scent of his companions. After entering the forest, he put the stuff on the tip of the elephant cub's nose for him to smell.
Only then did Arlo Shen realize what he was asking for.
The elephant cub glanced at Captain Li appreciatively, memorized the smell of the things, and then began to identify the direction of the smell in the dense forest.
Fortunately, that group of people didn't come in for long, so Arlo Shen didn't have to look for them that hard.
After leading people around in the woods, they first saw four people holding water to drink by a hidden stream. They were obviously relieved when they saw the police, and they talked about their experiences of being deceived. After that, Captain Li arranged for someone to send him out.
