Ryan Cui thought something was wrong, so he threw Ji onto the bed and pushed Ethan Peng: "Go and call your father, Ji, and the other clerk at the counter in, and come with me to the yard to take a look."
He hurried downstairs and saw the back door of the store. He called out to the store, "Something happened in the back, come quickly." He tiptoed to take down the house-guarding sword on the wall, and went into the yard without caring whether it was sharpened or not. The back door on the first floor of the store was closed and had some sound insulation. Ji's assistant was busy worrying and didn't notice the commotion in the back. Unexpectedly, he suddenly ran down and walked towards the backyard, which frightened the two assistants and they hurried up to stop him, but they were still a step too late.
Ryan Cui grabbed the sword and ran in, but found that the flower-covered gate in the courtyard was sealed, and there was another alley next to it.
He walked along the alley for a while before entering the main courtyard. Under his feet, he saw torn satin clothes, shattered porcelain pieces, blood-red rouge, and snow-white lead powder all over the floor. At the edge of the courtyard, several servants with red noses and green eyes stood in a confused manner, surrounded by two young women with dishevelled hair and untidy clothes, looking at each other with deep emotion.
He couldn't tell who was calling for help, so he grabbed the scabbard and asked, "What happened? I'm calling the police!"
