It was August 30th, late autumn, and it happened to rain. Blake Harrison asked the kitchen to prepare a steaming hot pot of assorted mountain delicacies, some exquisite Huaiyang dishes, and opened a jar of aged wine for Ethan Bennett.
"There are only a few of us here, and Shujin doesn't like extravagance, so let's keep it simple." Blake Harrison raised his glass. At the table, there were only him, Ethan Bennett, Jiang Zhuxing, Xiang Yingwan, and Jiang Zhan who was playing with a cat in the back.
The few people looked at each other in silence, drank a round of wine in silence, and didn't eat many bites of the food. The atmosphere was tense and everyone had different thoughts.
Jiang Zhan was tired from playing, so he came over and hugged Ethan Bennett's thighs, saying in a baby voice, "Brother, I'm tired. I want to listen to your stories before going to bed."
Jiang Zhan was frightened at Zeng Yourong's place a few days ago and was burned by charcoal. Although he seemed to be fine, Ethan Bennett was worried about him and coaxed him to sleep every day. Unfortunately, unlike Ryan Thompson who had read so many novels and legends, he could only tell Jiang Zhan some dry stories from "A New Account of Tales of the World". Fortunately, Jiang Zhan did not dislike it and listened with great interest, blinking his beautiful eyes.
