Zeng Xian was dead, and everyone in the Zeng family was taken away. The matter was over. Zeng Yourong and Xiang Yingwan, who was under house arrest, were the only ones detained in the mansion. Blake Harrison no longer had any long-term plans for himself. While the Jiang family still had some accumulated merits, he dismissed many of the guards and servants and made other arrangements, leaving only 20 or 30 of his trusted followers in the mansion.
On August 25th, the matter had just been settled and the mansion had become deserted. Blake Harrison went to bed after lunch. Ethan Bennett promised Jiang Zhan to accompany him to fly a kite. As soon as he walked into the yard, he saw Liu Feiyan walking towards him with a bag on her back and a bamboo hat on.
Ethan Bennett was a little confused. After thinking about it, he realized that he couldn't pretend not to see her, so he asked politely, "Miss Jiang... where are you going?"
Liu Feiyan leaned down and reached out to touch Jiang Zhan, who was held by Ethan Bennett. Jiang Zhan didn't seem to be very close to her but he didn't reject her either. Liu Feiyan actually smiled for the first time. Ethan Bennett was a little dazzled for a moment. He finally understood why there was the story of lighting beacons to trick the princes in ancient times.
"Doctor Pei." Liu Feiyan stood up and said with shame: "I was impulsive about what happened that day. I'm sorry."
