Hetuala, also known as Xingjing, is a fortress built by Nurhaci as early as the Wanli period.
With the rapid development of JianRoman Lu tribe, an outer city was added later.
The inner city was inhabited by Nurhaci and his relatives, while the outer city was inhabited by elite soldiers. There were also separate areas for blacksmiths and craftsmen to live in.
Nurhaci lived in Hetuala for twenty years, until five years after he founded the country and proclaimed himself Khan, when he moved the capital to Liaoyang against all odds.
Although Hetuala is remote and the city is small in size, it can be said to be the "birthplace" of the Jiannu. It is the most valued by Huang Taiji, but it is also the place that is most easily overlooked.
