The inpatient department of the Second Hospital of B University is exceptionally quiet tonight. Apart from the occasional coughing and snoring, there is almost no noise.
Shen Zheng touched Adrian Jiang's head in the dim light of the ward. The girl was sleeping soundly with a rosy face. If it weren't for the clearly visible marks on her neck and the abrasions on her hands, no one would have known that she had experienced a life-and-death situation tonight.
"You must be tired after working all night," a woman in a suit patted Shen Zheng's shoulder, "I'll take care of Yueyue."
The woman was Su Rui, Adrian Jiang's mother. Shen Zheng lowered his voice and said guiltily: "Sister-in-law, what happened today..."
Su Rui made a gesture to keep quiet, and then the two of them tiptoed out of the ward.
