The last firework was a pink dandelion that bloomed in the sky and then scattered all over the sky. Countless fluffy petals flashed like electric currents and disappeared into the darkness.
The splendor disappeared and the place became deserted in an instant. The air was filled with the pungent smell of fireworks. Liam Harris was still holding Owen Travis's left hand, his thumb pressing on the back of his hand, rubbing the blood vessels silently.
Owen Travis stared at him blankly, his eyes filled with so many emotions: surprise, hesitation, timidity, shyness, all of which combined could not equal his heartbeat, so his face was as red as the lantern hanging high behind him.
Liam Harris asked: "Teacher Qu, do you like it?"
Owen Travis felt the word "like" touched his heart. His eyes wandered around in panic, looking at the pile of black firework boxes, dodging the gap in the cobblestone road, and falling on his ring finger.
