When Gwen said these things, he came up with everything he did, for fear that Lucas would not believe it.
“You have to believe me, really.” For fear that he would not believe it, he repeated it very seriously.
Lucas originally minded hearing these things, but when he heard what Gwen said, he instantly felt angry and funny.
