Kawako was running out of breath and still didn't dare to stop. He burrowed into the weeds and shrubs, and the branches hit his head and face. He could hear nothing but his own rapid breathing.

Kawako ran in confusion until he tripped and his body tilted downhill and rolled into the stream. His arms were shaking as he pushed himself up. He still wanted to run, but found that his legs were not working at all. Kawako propped himself up on his elbows, letting his upper body crawl out of the stream and lie down on the mud and grass. He gasped for breath, feeling dizzy, and finally vomited in the grass.

It wasn't until the sun set over the Western Mountains that Sichuan River slowly came up. He groped for his chest with trembling hands, took out the steamed buns that had been pressed into pancakes, and ate them with big mouthfuls of water. When he felt confident, he held on to the tree and walked slowly.

The dark night seemed like a dream, and Kawako could not tell the truth from the false. He felt cold and hot all over his body, and he seemed to be able to walk home just by walking like this. In the second half of the night, he felt that his whole body was burning hot, and his soaked clothes and pants felt cold from the cold. His eyes were dizzy from the burning, and even his own breathing was separated by the clouds.

Kawako fell to the ground and could not get up. He seemed to hear the barking of dogs, and a pair of boots stepped on the branches of thorns and stopped in front of his eyes.
