The rule of the prefectural government was to have two meals a day, which was somewhat unbearable for Evan Zhao, who was used to three meals a day and was still recovering from his injuries and in great need of nourishment.

After breakfast, Evan Zhao only drank a bowl of hot soup. When it was time for dinner, his stomach started to growl unconsciously.

The study was very quiet. The sound of writing was barely audible, and the only sounds were the turning of bamboo slips and the scraping of a knife.

Evan Zhao's heart was rumbling, his ears were red, and his writing speed was slowed down instantly. Liam Wei raised his head, saw Evan Zhao's slightly stiff expression, smiled slightly, called the maid, and ordered her to get steamed buns and hot soup.

The maidservant left in response, and soon, steamed cakes, buns, and freshly prepared hot soup were served to the two of them. There were also pickled sunflowers and sliced   and grilled meat.
