When Evan Zhao arrived at the farm, Xiong Bo was leading people to unload hoes, sickles and new plows from the carts.
A large area of snow was cleared on the east side of the livestock farm, and a dozen strong men lined up, swung wooden hammers, and smashed down wooden stakes as thick as thighs.
It was the coldest time of the year and the ground had already frozen, but fortunately there were deep pits that had been dug previously, so although it was a bit laborious, with a few people taking turns, they were always able to erect the new fence before dark.
While the young and strong were working, Wei Qing and Azhi pulled a trailer to the warehouse. The trailer was piled with tanned animal skins. In addition to sheepskin and cowhide, there were also wild animals hunted by Henry Hu and his men. One of the bear skins was particularly rare, so an old hunter was specially asked to tan it. When it was unfolded, it could cover the entire wooden house without any damage. It was taken to the city market to exchange, and it was more than enough to trade for a cart of millet.
Henry Hu was checking the fence outside the livestock farm and repairing the crossbars that were damaged by wild animals. When he heard the sound of horse hooves and saw Evan Zhao galloping from a distance, he immediately showed joy, whistled, asked the young and strong man who was traveling with him to go back and deliver the message, and he quickly went to meet him.
