Minyue was a branch of the Baiyue tribe, and can be traced back to the pre-Qin period. During the Zhou Dynasty, the Minyue Kingdom was established, but was destroyed by the Chu State. Some nobles and civilians migrated south, and the leader Wuzhu unified the seven Mins, achieving a brief restoration of the country.
Qin Shi Huang unified the north of the Ling Mountains. The Qin army invaded the Baiyue, crushing them with ease along the way. The Baiyue army was routed and their territory was reduced.
Wherever the Qin army pointed their swords at, the Yue people all surrendered, and the Minyue were no exception.
In the 33rd year of the reign of Qin Shihuang, Minzhong County was first established. The King of Minyue was stripped of his title, and the land he governed was officially incorporated into the territory of Qin.
At the end of the Qin Dynasty, the whole country was in chaos, and the leaders of the Yue people rose up one after another to rebel against the Qin Dynasty.
