Natalie drove the off-road vehicle and quickly immersed himself into the night.

She didn't need to look back to know that there were several cars following her.

Most of the vehicles parked in the parking lot were military vehicles. People like Brandon and Miles, who had started recruiting new humans early and were obviously thoughtful and prepared for a rainy day, must have gotten a few car keys, and they got into their cars quickly.

The "survivor base" that had turned into hell was slowly left behind. The gnats ate happily, and screams and cries became the eerie background sound of the tomb-like campus.

Even Caleb had not expected that this so-called survivor base would fail in this way. The ambitious Captain Sang had no idea what he had done.

In the early days of the apocalypse when everything was still unclear, the living creatures provided the gnawers with a delicious meal.

At this time, the city nights have lost the bright neon lights of modern society. In the darkness, wandering on the streets are green-eyed gnawers. From time to time, birds and flying insects hit the front windshields of their cars. Since the radiation, these flying animals have become much more aggressive.

What was annoying was that the gla55 next to the driver's seat was broken, and Natalie could only use the fender to block it, which made "bang bang" sounds from time to time.

"Let's find a place to rest first." Ethan said with a frown.

It was a pitch-black night. Even with basic night vision, it didn't mean that you could see clearly. The street ahead seemed to be covered with a thick black gauze, and everything looked hazy.

Without bothering to look at the people following behind him, Natalie drove towards the city center. After all, he had been in this city for more than a week and had some understanding of it. Soon he found a hotel with a magnificent appearance.

The hotel lobby was empty. Caleb walked in and found the box containing the room cards. The one missing card meant that the room card was with the guest, but he didn't know whether the guest was dead or alive. The last white card was probably the hotel invoice. All the room doors could be opened. He only took the invoice, then picked out a few room cards that were not missing and took them all, and finally walked towards the stairs.

The elevator had lost power and could not be used. This hotel had thirty-six floors, and they went up one floor at a time, clearing out a few wandering gnawers, but other than that they did not encounter any danger.

"Go to the top?" Ethan asked.

Caleb looked at the card, "3517, 3515... I checked, the top two floors seem to be suites."

"Let's go see if there's anyone else occupying our nest." Natalie said indifferently.

If you were to use the same physical strength as before the time travel, climbing more than thirty floors would be a bit tiring. If you are not physically fit, you probably wouldn't be able to climb.

The three people now don't have this problem at all. The bodies generated by the game system data give them almost endless physical strength. Not to mention that after being irradiated, the physical fitness of the new humans has been increased and it will go up in minutes.

"There are footsteps." Ethan glanced down.

Caleb didn't even look at them, "It must be Brandon, Miles and the others."

"Why are they following us?" Natalie frowned.

Ethan smiled, "Because I fell in love with you at first sight."

Natalie: ...

I am sorry but I am not interested.

The group of people following up from below were almost all new humans, with Brandon being the only one carrying a burden. However, these soldiers were physically fitter than ordinary people, and became even stronger after their evolution. It was easy for them to carry a person up to more than thirty floors, so they climbed the stairs all the way up.

Perhaps because they were shocked by the tragic scene in the school before, no one spoke. Caleb and the others only heard the faint sound of footsteps.

Caleb opened the room, and sure enough, there was a suite on the 35th floor, a family suite, two bedrooms, and a living room. Fortunately, there were no gnawers or other creatures occupying the room, because there was nothing in the room and the height was considerable, so it was estimated that it had not been disturbed by birds and flying insects in the past few days. It was just that the room had not been opened for more than a week, and a dull smell hit me in the face. After entering, there was a thin layer of dust everywhere.

Ethan frowned in disgust, opened the window to ventilate the air, and barely endured this environment.

In fact, this level is not that bad. He is trying hard to adapt and can already endure it.

"You guys stay in that room, I'll stay here." Natalie chose a bedroom, ate an apple he took out of his backpack, waved his hand and said, "I'm going to sleep first."

Caleb entered the room first, looked at the big bed, hesitated for a moment and did not take out the sleeping bag.

In the past few days, they basically just found a house and slept in sleeping bags, and it was also to let Ethan and Natalie get used to this environment. After all the trouble today, everyone was a little tired, so they simply found a hotel to have a good rest. Although the bed hadn't been cleaned for more than a week, it was actually okay to shake the quilt, and sleeping in a sleeping bag every day was not comfortable.

Caleb first lay down with his clothes on, looked at the hesitant Ethan, and said with a smile, "If you think it's not clean enough, you should sleep in a sleeping bag."

"The sleeping bag was placed on the ground before, so it's not clean." Ethan said unhappily. Besides, it was a pity to give up the chance to "sleep in the same bed" with Caleb after such a hard time.

So he lifted the quilt and lay down next to Caleb.

At first, he slept very well, staring at the ceiling. After a while, he suddenly spoke, "Caleb."

"Yeah." Caleb was about to fall asleep and answered vaguely.

"Did we have s3x?"

Caleb: ...

The tone of the question was so serious that Caleb suddenly came to his senses.

It seemed like a long time had pa55ed before Caleb said "hmm" softly.

Then, he noticed that the guy sleeping next to him suddenly became depressed, and he could feel the gloomy feeling without him saying anything.

Not counting the time they had spent together before the time travel, Caleb and Ethan had been together day and night for more than ten years. Not to mention that he knew this man like the back of his hand, Caleb could sensitively detect any changes in him.

...It's the same even if I'm facing him from ten years ago.

So, why did Ethan get angry after hearing the answer? Caleb didn't understand.

Then, Ethan suddenly turned towards him, hugged Caleb's waist, and buried his face in Caleb's clothes.

He said sullenly, "Don't move, let me hold you for a while."

Caleb didn't move. In fact, he was very relaxed. He was used to this kind of physical contact and didn't feel anything.

And he realized that Ethan didn't actually want to do anything, even though his hands around his waist were very tight and a little tight.

Soon, Caleb felt sleepy and fell asleep in a daze.

With Ethan by his side, he slept very peacefully.

Ethan is not only the person he falls in love with and his close lover, but also his most trusted comrade-in-arms and partner. Caleb has long been accustomed to sleeping in Ethan's arms.

He fell asleep, leaving Ethan sulking beside him, unable to sleep even in the middle of the night.

The smell of dust lingering in the air made Ethan feel very uncomfortable in his nose.

Caleb, who was sleeping next to him, had an attitude towards him that was both familiar and unfamiliar. He obviously liked Caleb so much, but now he was so angry with him that he couldn't sleep.

I was secretly sulking all night, and my face didn't look very good when I woke up.

At the door, she ran into Natalie, who was refreshed after a good sleep. She glanced at her cousin's face and said with a smile, "Why, I gave you a chance, why do you look like this? Are you unsatisfied?"

Ethan snorted, "Thank you so much."

It is really hard to say such words. Caleb feels that everything he had experienced with Ethan before his rebirth was real. However, from Ethan's perspective, it seemed that Caleb had fallen in love with a stranger himself.

It was hard for him to describe the feeling.

It was as if the first time I discovered that Caleb seemed to be seeing another person through me, I felt a vague twinge of jealousy in my heart.

Ethan skillfully took out a small gas tank from his backpack and boiled some water. He still wanted to eat some normal food in the morning, but he hadn't had the conditions to do so after a busy day yesterday.

By the time the aroma wafted out of the small earthenware pot, Caleb had already finished washing up. Fortunately, this hotel had its own water tank on the roof, which seemed to have a filtration system installed. The floor was high, so a thin stream of water could flow out when the faucet was turned on.

As soon as he came out, the three of them heard a knock on the door.

Natalie couldn't believe it, "Are they so shameless?"

She just didn't believe that Miles or Brandon didn't see that they were not welcome. It was already annoying enough that they followed the three of them without permission, and they had the nerve to come and disturb them in the morning?

Caleb laughed, "At this time, what does face matter?"

He roughly guessed why the other party came to find them. They had hurriedly escaped from school yesterday, and he was sure that they didn't bring any food with them.

Even if there was food in the hotel's kitchen, there would probably be nothing left to eat after being stored there for more than a week without electricity. There were a few small shops nearby, and we could probably find some if we searched, but if we wanted to get a big harvest, we would have to walk a long way. The aroma of their food was too tempting. The new humans' sense of smell had been enhanced, and the walls could not block the transmission of the smell.

Of course, it is also possible that an emergency occurred, such as the injured person did not receive treatment and the wound may have been infected. However, Brandon did not seem like the kind of person who would seek medical treatment desperately, so he should not have come to them.

"Don't open the door, let them knock." Ethan said sarcastically, then slowly served out the porridge and handed it to Caleb.

They have no obligation to "help the poor".

Caleb stood by the window and looked out. He was stunned by what he saw. The weather was not good today, with dark clouds covering the city. The building was high here and he could see the situation below clearly. The swaying figures slowly gathering here were like the scenes in disaster movies.

Seeing him standing there motionless, Ethan and Natalie came over, looked down, and were also stunned.

"Is this... a gnawer?" Ethan frowned.

Natalie was puzzled, "Why would the gnawers gather here?"

Caleb sneered and said without hesitation, "Miles."

It's really rare to find someone who is so good at causing trouble. This madam may even risk his own life when causing trouble.

So, he didn't find it strange.
