"Other children have birthdays with cake and blow out candles," Hunter Lang said leisurely, "My little brother has to have it too."
Ethan Bai was so aroused by Hunter Lang's gentle and magnetic call of "little brother" that she was speechless. Her heart was beating so hard that her chest ached slightly, and she could almost hear the creaking sound of herself being bent.
It was not until Hunter Lang handed him twenty-six dandelion candles that Ethan Bai regained his ability to speak.
Ethan Bai tightly grasped the small handful of green stems that still had Hunter Lang's body temperature, temporarily putting aside the teacher-student relationship, and thanked Hunter Lang earnestly in the tone of a conversation with a peer. Her pupils were as clear as pebbles dipped in a mountain stream: "This is the first time someone celebrates my birthday like this. Thank you... Is the cut on your hand deep?"
Hunter Lang sneered: "Not really. If you really want to thank me, can you make a birthday wish that is related to me?"
