The Headless Horseman Dullahan is said to be the messenger of Krulennos, the god of forests and fertility in Celtic mythology, and some even believe he is his incarnation.
The god of agriculture also possesses the attributes of the underworld and resurrection. Such examples can be found in the myths of many civilizations. For example, Osiris, the ancient Egyptian god of plants and agriculture, who also has Toujie, the god of fertility, became the lord of the underworld after his death and the eternal king who guides the dead.
Krulennos had similar characteristics, ruling over hunting and agriculture as well as death and bloody sacrificial rituals.
Therefore, Aaron Li hoped to give this blood duel the meaning of "human sacrifice" by arranging the venue, so as to lure out the Dullahan wandering nearby.
Of course, he didn't really want to sacrifice the Teraya siblings. After all, his goal was to defeat or capture the Headless Horseman.
