Hongxing Supermarket was temporarily closed, with a sign outside that read "Inventory Check". This was Lu Mingyu's suggestion.

Lu Mingyu was well aware of the negative public opinion impact that a police visit would have on a family. He did not want to deepen the neighbors' prejudice against Chen Yu and her son before the crime was committed against Chen Yu, even though this prejudice had been lurking in the lives of Chen Yu and her son since Guo Yuwei's disappearance, and it has been two years now.
