Xihuan Road Agricultural Products Wholesale Market is the most historically rich and largest early morning market in Wujin City.
The Agricultural Trade City was completed more than a decade ago. It was once a large theater with considerable scale and was frequented by street performers. Later, it was destroyed by war. The artists who made a living abandoned this land and fled to distant places. The theater was baptized by artillery fire several times and once accommodated several nationalities. It was not until the founding of the People's Republic of China that it was renovated. At first, it was only a cloth trading market. Later, with the rapid economic development, the Wujin Port was built, and the trading market close to the port became a daily seafood distribution center. Later, fruit and vegetable vendors also moved in to solicit and sell.
Gradually, this place became a distribution center for agricultural products, and half of the population of Wujin City used this place for food, clothing and daily necessities. The daily flow of people was comparable to that of the Spring Festival travel rush.
At 7:42 in the morning, the morning rush hour of the market had just passed, but the shouting and hawking of various accents were still heard, and the air was filled with the complex smell of vegetables, fruits, and seafood. But even more powerful was the aroma of fried starch from the grass food stalls along the road in the market.
Seven or eight men wearing helmets and dressed as migrant workers walked out of the crowded crowd and stood in front of the oil pan where dough sticks were frying at the entrance of the breakfast shop, pushing away the man who was originally standing next to the pan to keep warm.
