Logan Zhuang did not wake up after leaving the palace. He kept thinking he was dreaming until Li Rusi poked him in the waist. Then he felt sore all over and cried out in pain.
"Miss Li, what are you doing?" Logan Zhuang jumped suddenly, then sat down on the ground because of the pain.
"Xiao Lian, that's not right. Wasn't your appointment as governor quite smooth? The eunuchs who sent you back were all smiling. Why do you still look so distraught?" Li Rushi asked curiously, stretching out her hand to pull Logan Zhuang up.
"I'm not distraught, but I just find it hard to believe. It's like a pie dropped from the sky, and I don't know how to deal with it." Logan Zhuang stood up, then sat down again, massaging his sore thigh.
The emperor treated him like his own father, sending him money and food. If Logan Zhuang had not been absolutely sure that he was wearing the robe, he would have thought that he was the emperor's illegitimate son.
