When the first ray of sunlight shined on Harper Shi's face through the gap in the curtains, she woke up.
Harper Shi stood up quietly, trying not to make any noise so as not to wake up the two sleeping children.
Walking to the window, Harper Shi opened it, and a faint sea smell unique to the sea floated in the air, mixed with the fragrance of distant flowers, trees, and earth.
She took a deep breath, enjoying the moment of peace.
Harper Shi looked back at the children who were still sleeping, with a gentle smile on her face.
