When Avery left Shuifu Village, he made a promise to Hunter that he would come back here to meet him again. They would go to look for wild fruits with thorns in the spring, play in the stream in the summer, build thick grain piles in the fall, and go to the town's favorite game hall to play the game machines that both of them had been thinking about.
But Avery, who went to the city later, did not return to Shuifu Village. Although he still remembered this childhood playmate, the long distance made it difficult for them to fulfill their promise. Many years later, when they grew up, Avery would occasionally return to Shuifu Village to visit his grandmother, but because they had not seen each other for a long time, some estrangement inevitably arose between him and Hunter. Naturally, the two did not follow their childhood agreement to hold the most precious game coins and take a one or two hour car ride just to play a game for more than ten minutes.
Avery forgot about the incident, and Hunter never mentioned it again. Their childhood memories were covered with a layer of sand formed by time, and became increasingly blurred.
Later, Shuifu Village became Avery's sad place. His parents came back to visit relatives, but unfortunately died in a landslide. Even their bodies were not found. Avery hurried back, looking incredibly haggard.
"Avery, you're back." Hunter said to him.
