The next day, the two fugitives who regained consciousness finally cleared Avery of suspicion. After examination, it was found that their injuries were not serious, and most of them were superficial injuries. In their confessions, they said that the reason for the injuries was that they were pecked by the chickens in Avery's house.
Pecked by a chicken? The police didn't believe it, but the two men insisted that it was true and refused to change their words. From their expressions, it seemed that they were frightened by what happened last night. The police in charge of the interrogation thought it was strange, but since their lives were not in danger and the murderer was on the run, they were too lazy to investigate further.
Of course, this does not include Hu Shu. Hu Shu is in his forties and can be considered an old policeman. He has handled at least 800 cases, if not 1,000. However, the two cases involving Avery both had some supernatural elements.
Hu Shu didn't believe these things at first, but the last case of the female ghost left a deep impression on him. When all wrong answers were eliminated, no matter how incredible the remaining answer was, it was the only correct answer.
While Hu Shu was thinking, his boss came over and patted him on the shoulder, saying, "How is it, is there any progress in the case?"
