The little fox lay softly on the ground with its eyes tightly closed. Avery was afraid that something might happen to it, so he quickly held it in his arms. The fox was very small, only the size of a palm, with soft fur that was fluffy and soft, and it felt very comfortable to touch in the hand.
Avery carried it quietly back home, and shouted as he entered the door: "White Moon Fox!! White Moon Fox!!! Is this your son?"
Nathan had just finished washing the dishes and came out of the kitchen with wet hands. As soon as he came out, he saw Avery and the little fox cub in his arms. His eyes suddenly became sharp: "Where did the fox come from?"
Avery said, "I picked it up on the roadside." He described the situation just now, and then asked suspiciously, "Did someone deliberately drop it at our doorstep?" As he spoke, he glanced at Nathan thoughtfully.
The only vixen in this family is Nathan Fox, and the fox cub must be related to him. Just leaving it at the door like that is somewhat consistent with the plot of a woman who is abandoned by her lover and gives birth to a child alone, and then angrily throws the child at the door of the unfaithful man... But then again, Avery remembered that he had read in the animal world that foxes are monogamous animals, and they will not look for new partners even if they are widowed.
