Avery stood in front of Eli.

He looked down at me with a look of surprise on his face, "What happened to your legs? Why are you sitting in a wheelchair?"

Since a head-on collision is unavoidable, just face it calmly.

Eli forced out his usual smile, greeted them, and got up from the wheelchair. "My legs are fine. I will use the wheelchair sometimes."

Seeing this, Avery seemed to be relieved, "It's good that you're okay, it's good that you're okay. I was really scared when I saw you sitting in a wheelchair from a distance just now. I thought you had encountered something and became disabled!"

After he finished speaking, he seemed to realize that his words were rude. He let out an awkward "ah", covered his mouth, and looked at Eli with an apologetic look on his face.

Eli forced himself to maintain a smile and said, "It's okay."

Miles also came out to explain to Avery: "He is not in good health, so he uses a wheelchair when he goes out on a daily basis."

"Oh, so that's how it is." Avery looked as if he had suddenly realized something. His fox-like eyes rolled around, and he couldn't help but look Eli up and down curiously.

Eli still had a smile on his face and let him look at her.

At the same time, he was also looking at the clothes that belonged to him on Avery.

Eli's clothes have always been simple, and this one is no exception. It is a pure cotton white T-shirt with a black printed logo on it. Eli is weak, so the sizes of his clothes are small, and other people can hardly wear his clothes, but Avery can, and this white T-shirt looks inexplicably suitable on her.

It was as if this dress was originally his...

"There was an accident when we were accepting the project. His clothes got wet. You two are about the same size, so I brought him here to change clothes." As if he had noticed where Eli was looking, Miles spoke.

This explains why Avery appeared here and was wearing his clothes.

Eli nodded, but didn't pursue the matter too much.

Miles looked at Eli, then helped him tighten his coat. "You're still wearing a little thin. It's cold at night. Next time you want to go out for a walk, wear something a little thicker."

"Okay." Eli agreed with a smile and asked, "Are you guys still going out?"

Miles hummed lightly, "I have an important dinner party soon. What about you? Do you want to hang out outside for a while?"

His tone became gentler, as soft as the spring breeze in April.

Eli listened and smiled unconsciously, "No, I've finished touring the community, it's time to go back now."

"Okay, then I'll take you home." Miles said as he pushed the wheelchair over, asked him to sit in it and was about to take him home.

Eli had just sat down and before they had time to leave, Avery opened his arms and stood in front of them. He threatened, "No, Brother Miles, we are running out of time!"

Miles frowned, "It doesn't matter if these few minutes are missed."

Avery's face was filled with obvious worry. "But my dad asked you to go there early, saying that there are many people he wants to introduce to you. You can't let them wait, right?"

Seeing this, Eli took the initiative to speak to Miles behind him, "You guys can go do whatever you want. I've been out for so long and there's nothing to do. Besides, we're almost downstairs."

"Yes, yes, this place is just a few steps away from your home. It's okay with such a short distance." Avery quickly agreed.

Without waiting for Miles to object, he continued, "If we don't leave now, it will be too late. What about the follow-up funds for your projects?"

In the end, Miles still did not send Eli home, and was forcibly dragged away by Avery.

Eli was not in a hurry to leave. He watched the two of them leave until even their backs disappeared. He turned around then. However, just as his wheelchair turned twice, a pair of pointed leather shoes stepped on it, blocking his way.

Looking up, Eli saw the face he hated most in his life---

Carson.

He still had the same unruly blue hair, his narrow eyes narrowed, and a playful smirk on his lips, "Oh, what a coincidence that we meet here, we are destined to meet!"

Eli's face turned cold and he stared at him without answering.

The residential complex where they rented was just an ordinary one with average security conditions, and anyone could come in and out freely. However, a community of this level was obviously not a place where a rich young man like Carson would come.

Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Carson took out his cigarette box, took out a cigarette and put it between his ears, then took out another one and was about to hand it to Eli.

Seeing that the latter was still unmoved, he slapped his head and said as if he had suddenly realized something, "Oh, I forgot, you, Young Master Wen, don't smoke. Tsk, tsk, tsk, it's a pity not to smoke such a good cigarette."

Carson clicked his tongue while taking the cigarette from his ear and lighting it.

The flames shot up high. He took two puffs of the cigarette with an exaggerated look, then moved in front of Eli and spit it all out, twisting his mouth into an evil smile, "We are old classmates. I will let you smell it even if I don't smoke it. How about that? Isn't that nice?"

Although Eli held his breath and moved back as soon as Carson approached, he still couldn't stop the gray smoke from entering his nostrils.

He frowned uncomfortably and spoke in a humming voice, "What do you want to do?"

Carson didn't respond to his question at all. Instead, he looked around him curiously, "Why are you alone today? Where's the old man who retired from the army? Why isn't he following you?"

Hearing this, Eli frowned even more tightly.

Since Carson had the time to investigate Uncle Rong's background, he must have known that I had moved out of the Wen family, so his appearance here was no accident. Now there are few people here and the lights are not on, so what exactly does he want to do!

Eli put his right hand into his pocket and secretly clenched his palm.

"I was wondering, how could the timid Eli dare to fight back and curse people? It turns out that he has a martial artist as his bodyguard. Tsk tsk tsk, he is just relying on the power of his master. You must have felt great cursing him the last time we met, but you didn't expect that he would fall into my hands today!" Carson's narrow eyes flashed with a cunning and fierce light.

He stared at Eli like a wild beast staring at its prey, ferocious and greedy.

After not seeing him for a few years, the man in front of him looked more and more attractive, especially the hint of weakness revealed in his pale cheeks, which made his adrenaline surge and made him want to push the man to the ground.

Eli was no fool, so he naturally understood the meaning in his eyes. He lowered his voice and warned, "Carson, try to touch me!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Carson laughed arrogantly. He seemed to have heard a big joke and couldn't help laughing. "Hahaha, poor little thing, your threat is really lethal. What, if I do something to you, who will you complain to?"

"Your old gong who is good for nothing except being busy? Or your brother, Oliver?" Carson sneered contemptuously.

"Don't think about complaining to your brother, it's useless." Carson sneered, becoming more and more arrogant, "Let me tell you this, you didn't hear a single apology from me back then, and from now on, for the rest of your life, in this life, you, Eli, will never hear a single apology from me, Carson!"

Mentioning the past, it was like a nightmare, and Eli's face became paler and paler.

Seeing this, Carson held his little hand with a distressed look on his face, "Oh, poor little thing, don't be afraid. You didn't know how to be sensible in high school. You don't know how to feel sorry for such a pretty girl. Tsk tsk tsk, I won't do that again in the future. I will love you well."

As Carson spoke, he touched his arm upwards. His cold fingers were like snakes, causing Eli to break out in goose bumps all over his body, as if countless worms were wriggling around, causing him to feel terrified and disgusted.

Carson enjoyed the terror and fear in the eyes of the weak, and was about to go further. When he put his hand into his clothes, a shrill alarm suddenly sounded beside him.

The alarm sounded like a stone thrown into a calm lake, instantly causing a wave of ripples. The originally peaceful and tranquil community suddenly became restless.

Many people were attracted by the sound, and the discussions and footsteps were getting closer. Carson cursed, and did not dare to act rashly. He turned around and ran away.

Finally getting rid of this trouble, my tense nerves relaxed in an instant.

Eli paused for a long time before forcing out an apologetic smile to the crowd that gradually gathered around him. He took out the alarm from his pocket with great effort, "It was a small toy I bought for my child at home. I accidentally touched it. Sorry."

After apologizing, he turned off the alarm and put it in his pocket again.

This was also bought for him by his mother Wen Mingzhu.

His dear mother really thought of many possibilities for her sick little son and was worried about it...

When the people around saw that it was just an accident and nothing serious happened, they gradually dispersed.

Eli was afraid that Carson had not gone far, so he did not dare to stay and hurried back home.

After locking the door, Eli stumbled into the guest bathroom.

He began to vomit violently, his vomit was full of acid, and the bitter coating on his tongue still couldn't relieve the nausea in his heart.

The next second, the faucet was turned on, and the rushing water washed over the skin that Carson had touched.

Eli used soap to scrub it over and over again, but was still not satisfied. He picked up the brush beside him and started scrubbing it regardless of anything else.

The rough bristles left blood marks on the delicate skin, but Eli was still not satisfied. He frantically and helplessly searched for a better tool until he finally picked up a knife...

The moment the sharp weapon cut his skin, Eli suddenly woke up. He looked up abruptly and saw himself in the mirror. His hair was wet, his eyes were bloodshot, and his forehead was covered with sweat. He looked miserable.

Frightened by his own reflection in the mirror, Eli took two steps back in panic and bumped into something at his feet.

Looking down, he saw the alarm that his mother Wen Mingzhu asked him to carry with him.

He was so embarrassed when he vomited just now that the alarm slipped out of his pocket without him noticing.

Eli bent down stiffly to pick up the alarm, then placed it on the sink. He didn't dare to look at the wound on his left arm, and just stared blankly at the small alarm.

In a trance, he remembered that many years ago, his mother Wen Mingzhu gave him this little thing and told him to carry it with him whenever he went out. She also taught him how to use it to scare away bad guys...

His dearest mother, fearing that he would be in danger, racked her brains to teach him how to survive and protect himself, but he was unwilling to stab himself with a knife...

All the emotions burst out like a flood in an instant.

Tears as big as beans rolled down, and Eli fell helplessly to the ground, crying hoarsely without restraint.

I'm sorry, mom. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt myself. I'm just really sad...
