"Honestly, go find a relationship," Clara counted on her fingers the number of years Li had been single.

"No talk," Nathan said firmly, "I wouldn't even talk to that kid."

He answered so quickly that he seemed suspicious.

Clara looked at him and asked curiously, "What's wrong? He can't do it?"

Nathan almost choked to death on his own saliva. He covered his mouth and coughed three or four times before he recovered. He looked to the side. Fortunately, no one heard Clara's shocking speech. He turned his eyes back to the wall, where a photograph was hung. It was a blurry light and shadow projected in an empty courtyard on a summer afternoon. There was no one, only a pair of wet and muddy children's feet in the corner of the photo.
