The next day I picked up Brandon Sheng'ou for work on time. He looked normal, as if he had no recollection of what happened last night, and treated me no differently. His attitude was clear, so I did what he expected and just pretended nothing had happened.
Sometimes I really admire him. I'm afraid no one can be as confident and calm as he is. And I don't know if it's because he vented his emotions thoroughly, but his tone of voice seems to be less impatient. This morning, I almost failed to brake and rear-ended the car in front of me. Usually, he would have been angry, but today he just told me to "watch out".
The trial is tomorrow, and Brandon Shengou probably wants to face the other lawyer in high spirits, so he didn't arrange any social events in the evening. He just held a long meeting before the trial, which started at one o'clock in the afternoon and ended at an unknown time.
The meeting was too long, with professional terms interspersed from time to time. I kept dozing off while listening to it. I couldn't listen to it anymore halfway through, so I had to leave the meeting room to get some fresh air.
It was at this time that Mo Qiu called.
