Just as Everett Gu was about to get up and open the door, Miles Shao jumped up from the sofa and walked to the door barefoot without even wearing slippers. He coughed lightly and said, "Sit down, I'll get it."
Everett Gu reminded him: "The distance from the living room to the door is almost twenty steps."
