It was the middle of the night and Caleb couldn't fall asleep. His mind was blank and he didn't really think about the conversation between his parents in low voices.

After lying there for a while, he suddenly remembered to check the homework he had hurriedly copied, but he was afraid that the light would leak out through the crack in the door and his parents would find out, so he tossed and turned in bed for half the night before falling asleep. Strangely, he woke up automatically at dawn the next morning, and he felt refreshed, not at all the way to sleep after a late night.

He put on his clothes and ran downstairs to see if his parents had left and if Ellian was still there. As soon as he arrived in the hall, he smelled a sweet milky smell. He turned around and saw that the dining room was already set with sliced toast and bagels, with but.ter, chestnut cream and jam on a small plate next to it, and a two-tiered porcelain dessert plate filled with cupcakes, puddings and egg tarts.

Ellian came out of the kitchen with a piece of toast in his mouth and two cups of hot soy milk in his hands. He waved the cups at him and said, "Come and have breakfast. Your parents have finished their breakfast and left. I forgot to ask you if you like sweet or salty food. If you want salty food, I'll cut a salted duck egg for you and open a can of luncheon meat."

Today's breakfast should be egg pancakes, corn paste and a portion of vegetables, right? Caleb thought about it, but didn't ask like he did last night, because he firmly believed that the medicine given to him by the immortal uncle was much more effective than eating nutritious meals. After eating nutritious meals for so many years, his hearing was not as good as it was last night.
