Liao Dynasty, Shangjing Dading Prefecture.
It happened to be the birthday of the Liao emperor, and the capital was decorated with lanterns and people came together to celebrate the Liao emperor's birthday. The Liao people did not have so many etiquette and rules. When the Liao emperor celebrated his birthday, he would drive from the east gate to the west gate and give the people 10,000 cups of wine, making it a "happy day with the people". So when the Liao emperor celebrated his birthday, the Liao people were also very happy, and they all went out to the streets to watch the emperor's sedan chair.
However, although it is called the emperor's imperial chariot, the person sitting on it may not be the Liao emperor. Last year, on the Liao emperor's birthday, the second prince Yelu Shege served 10,000 cups of wine on his behalf; this year, the third prince Yelu Han sat on the chariot frame, holding up the wine jar, with his chest open, and laughing loudly, he said to the guard general beside him: "Drink, don't go home until you are drunk!"
Ten thousand cups of wine were drunken in Shangjing for three hours before it finally came to an end.
The third prince, Yelu Han, held the wine presented by the people and brought it to the Liao emperor: "Father, this is the respect of the people of the world for you!"
