In the twelve hours before leaving this world, Logan Hunter had a lot to do.
For example, he worked with Ethan Collins overnight to sort out the big accounts of the Tu family over the years, and after carefully approving them, they were tied up and sealed in boxes so that Xu'er could open them after they left.
In the second half of the night, Ethan Collins brought over a pot of cold tea. The two sat under the porch, looking at the setting white moon and gazing at each other in the light of the sky that looked like blue glazed tiles.
The hazy light was like a cold-toned filter. They chatted in low voices about things outside this world. Their shadows folded over each other, starting from their own lines until they overlapped.
Logan Hunter had almost figured out the ins and outs of "Cleanskin" sending the cards, and was relieved to know that someone was supervising Mia Thompson's studies. However, after learning from Ethan Collins the real consequences of mission failure, his originally relaxed attitude turned into tension.
