Cameron Yan was awakened by a fright the next day. At first, he didn't hear the ringing of his cell phone, until Dominic Jiang took the phone and gently reminded him that it was his mother calling. He opened his eyes instantly, forced himself to wake up, and pressed the answer button.
Yan's mother's energetic voice came from the receiver: "Your father and I are at the supermarket. If you want to eat something, we'll make it later."
Cameron Yan's mind was still not back to reality, and he closed his eyes. As soon as he opened his mouth, his voice was extremely hoarse, almost on the verge of breaking. He cleared his throat before answering, "I'm not going home today, so you don't have to do mine."
"I know. Your father and I will come to your place later. Yu Lin just had surgery. I will make some soup for him to nourish him."
Upon hearing this, Cameron Yan immediately panicked. He looked at the time and saw that it was already afternoon. He tried to stop his mother from coming: "Let's do it another day. He doesn't seem to be free today."
