At the morning court, Zhu Houzhao issued an edict to exempt all ministers from paying tribute to the late emperor due to his minor death.
There were no banquets in the palace, no gold, silver, cloth or silk were awarded. From the cabinet down, the six ministries, nine officials, and the five military commanders, according to their ranks, took the rice dumplings home.
