It rained continuously in winter, and the official road to Yangzhou Prefecture was covered with puddles of various sizes. After being trampled by people and horses and rolled over by wheels, it soon became muddy.
From north to south, several fast horses galloped in the rain, with rain manes and frosty hooves, driving thunder and lightning.
The knights on horseback all wore silk robes, black gauze hats on their heads, embroidered spring swords on their waists, and wore a ivory badge from the Northern Pacification Division of the Jinyiwei.
On the horse's back, there was a water bag, a bow, and a crossbow hanging, which rose and fell with the bumps. The arrows hit each other, making a crisp sound.
