In the second year of the Zhengde reign (February 2), the battle report of Jizhou and a memorial requesting merit were sent to the capital.

The Zhengde Emperor, who had occasionally fallen ill and had stopped attending court for nearly ten days, finally recovered and went to the Fengtian Hall to attend the morning court.

In the first year of the Zhengde reign, the emperor issued an edict that all officials in the capital, regardless of civil or military rank, were not allowed to take a day off during the first month of the year. There was no new edict the following year, so they could not return home.

The performance evaluation of local officials and the grain tax books were copied to the relevant departments as soon as possible. The merits and demerits of officials and the amount of grain tax in the treasury were all submitted to the six ministries for discussion in advance.
