Zhao Yu went south this time with two imperial edicts.
"Gu Qing, a captain of the Northern Pacification Division of the Jinyiwei, has made meritorious contributions in suppressing bandits. He is promoted to Tongzhi, and is granted the Feiyu clothing, a reward of ten taels of gold, one hundred and fifty taels of silver, ten pieces of silk, and fifty thousand strings of treasure notes."
"Logan Yang, the assistant censor of the Metropolitan Procuratorate, was appointed as the Zhongshun official for his meritorious service in suppressing the bandits and awarded with a jade belt. He was also awarded with 10 taels of gold, 50 taels of silver, a coral tree, a hu of pearls, two boxes of gems, 10 pieces of silk, and 30,000 strings of treasure notes."
After the imperial edict was read out, Gu Qing and Logan Yang respectively accepted the order and expressed their gratitude.
The gold and silver granted were taken with them and sent to the Chang'an Earl's Mansion. After handing the yellow silk to the two men, Zhao Yu's mission was completed.
