The island where nearly a hundred pirates were hiding was taken in one battle.
The search yielded one box of gold cakes, weighing 27 taels, six boxes of silver bars and cakes, weighing 3,400 taels, 15 boxes of pearls, corals, gemstones, gold and silver utensils, 30 rolls of silk and satin cloth of various colors, and nine pieces of silver ore, which, according to a rough estimate, could be worth more than 8,000 taels of silver.
The bandit leader secretly hid more than 2,000 pieces of gold and silver in a cave behind the mountain, and even his own bandits were unaware of it.
There were eight villagers and three boatmen held hostage by the pirates. They were all ragged and skinny due to being enslaved. Their hands and feet were bound with iron chains and thick ropes. Their wounds were not treated and were already red, swollen and inflamed. If they delayed for a while longer, they might lose their lives.
There were more than 20 other women who were locked in a wooden house with a cliff behind them and guards in front of them. They never saw the sun and were on the verge of despair. Some of them were already dying and had no chance of survival.
