It was a silent ceremony, the first time Lu Bixing saw the funeral of an interstellar wanderer.

There was no grave, no hymn, no body, and certainly no farewell.

Thumb-high white candles stood in a row, with someone's name on them. Fat Sister lit them one by one, and then people and candles stood face to face. People stood silently, and the candles burned silently. When they burned out, it was like a farewell, and they had walked together for a while, ending this hasty fate.

The people living in this base have unknown origins, no identity, and no deeds worthy of praise in their lives. They struggle to survive for a hundred years or so, just like a tiny star in the "Desert of Death", coming from a collision and then turning into ashes in the collision, coming and going in time without a trace.

Silver Nine changed shifts, the small mechas that transported people ran back and forth, emitting turbid heat waves, the energy tower tilted to the other side, the air in the base was heated unevenly, and began to flow slowly, forming a melodious evening breeze. As the evening breeze passed, the candles went out one after another, and the small slips of paper with names on them were also rolled up into the sky, scattered into the narrow houses and alleys, and disappeared.
