CPU is also an integrated circuit, a central processing unit, but its nature is completely different. It is a digital circuit, and transistors are not just control switches, but must go through logic circuits to achieve the level of calculation.

A 16-bit processor requires hundreds of millions of calculations per second. Even Inter's earliest 4004 processor has 2,250 internal transistors. Even the oldest 4-bit processor has more than 60,000 floating-point operations per second.

This is high-tech.

This was just Inter's product in 1973.

At present, Intel has developed the fifth-generation processor. The Pentium series, which is about to be released, has integrated 21.3 million transistors, 0.25 microns, and is carved at the atomic level.
