The road in the early morning is like a ribbon leading to an unknown destination, dark, long, winding and twisting. Occasionally, the lights of passing vehicles flash by, and no one knows what they will encounter at the next stop.
Alex Tang sat in the back seat holding a candied haws. This was his second time riding in Ethan Yin's car.
The first time was after they parted ways unhappily after having eaten Japanese food that day. Claire Su appeared at the door of the restaurant at the right time and asked Ethan Yin to help take him home without saying anything, saying that "it's on the way anyway."
Ethan Yin would not refuse such a request, but Alex Tang was distraught at that time, as if he had lost his goal. His mind was in a mess and he couldn't say anything. Later, he said belated apology to Ethan Yin by adding him as a friend.
There was no conversation that time, and it was similar this time. Tanghulu was a little carsick, and vomited twice in Alex Tang's arms. The smell was very unpleasant in the car. Alex Tang freed one hand to open the window, but Ethan Yin in front of him tilted his head and said, "No need to open it, it's cold outside."
