Blackwood Fu suddenly grabbed Luna Collins's slender wrist with such force that he almost crushed her wrist bone. She was much thinner than before, especially the protruding bone on her wrist which pressed harshly against his palm. In that instant, all his rationality came back to him. He withdrew the strength in his hand and rubbed the red spot on her wrist with heartache.
"Does it hurt you?" he asked cautiously.
Luna Collins's eyes were sore, and she lowered her eyes quietly. Her voice was very soft, like the whimper of a little animal: "Yes."
Blackwood Fu paused.
Then he continued to rub her wrist as if nothing had happened.
