When Joseph followed Daniel downstairs, they had already started chatting downstairs. He vaguely heard some laughter, all female voices, but not Malcolm's voice.
Joseph's scalp tingled at the thought of meeting Daniel's mother. He glanced towards the living room. There were only two people sitting on the sofa. A woman wearing a shawl was sitting sideways to Joseph. She looked to be in her forties, with her hair tied up and pinned with a hairpin, giving her a very classical beauty.
The person opposite the sofa was leaning sideways, looking lazy and elegant. When he saw Joseph coming down, he looked over.
"Daniel, you said you were going to bring a guest down. Are you going to bring this little kitty?"
Joseph's ears were not tucked up, making it easy for people to tell that he was a monster. He was wearing the hoodie that Daniel had worn before, with his silver hair loose, and he looked like a cat monster that had infiltrated the human world.
