Jade's voice was bewitching. Claire was stunned for a few seconds before he suddenly reacted. He moved his trembling hand from Jade's waist and pressed it on his chest.

Jade has a boyfriend, so he probably only treats her as a friend. Claire said, "Leader, you have a great figure."

She said it seriously, but Jade stared at her for a few seconds, but he did not feel any joy because of the affirmative answer. He let go of Claire with some resentment, "It's late, go to bed quickly, you didn't get enough rest yesterday, go to bed early today."

Claire felt the emotional gap in Jade in an instant, and thought of the hysterical male voice he heard on the phone before, thinking that the two had not yet reconciled after a quarrel. Because her words reminded him of sad things, he said to Jade: "Leader, don't be trapped by love, you deserve better."

Jade stared at her with his dark pupils, as if hiding something that was hard to see through. After a while, his red lips curled up into a somewhat sad smile, "No, I want this one."

She spoke in a low and gentle voice, but with great force. Even Claire could feel her determination. She couldn't help but wonder what kind of person could control Jade to this extent. At the same time, she felt that Jade didn't deserve it. She hadn't even met Jade's "boyfriend", but she already had a prejudice against him: What kind of person is he? He doesn't even know how to cherish Jade. What a sgumbag!

Claire didn't know what to say, so he could only nod: "Good night, leader."

"Good night." Jade's eyes were flashing with tiny lights, as if they had crushed a whole galaxy, but the underlying tone was infinite tenderness. Looking at Claire's back as he pushed the door and returned to the room, she whispered softly, "Good night, silly."

In the morning, when Claire got up, Jade had already left.

She rubbed her eyes and walked out of the bedroom. The living room was brightly lit. Claire saw at a glance a plate of breakfast on the coffee table. The bread slices for the sandwiches looked freshly toasted and were orange in color, with a fried egg and tomato slices in the middle. Next to the plate was a glass of milk, still steaming.

Claire's stomach growled twice at the right moment. She went into the washroom to wash up. When she reached the mirror, she noticed a faint smile on her face.

After simply washing her face and brushing her teeth, Claire was too lazy to take care of her skin. She looked in the mirror and studied the hair that Jade had tied for her. After failing two or three times, she managed to style it into a similar look as before. She then pulled down two strands of her hair from her forehead and let them hang casually beside her face, which made her look less sharp and more well-behaved.

The aroma of breakfast wafted into his nose. Claire rushed to the coffee table and found a note next to the plate. It was written with a fountain pen. The handwriting was beautiful and vigorous, like a combination of Slender Gold and Running Script: "Remember to eat breakfast." There was also a chic smiley face at the end.

Looking at that smiling face, Claire couldn't help but smile too. Before sharing a house with Jade, she thought Jade was cold and distant. But during these two days of sharing a house with Jade, she gradually discovered another side of Jade, gentle and graceful. These traits and the cold yet charming side made up a real Jade.

Claire's office was on the tenth floor. As soon as he got off the elevator, he saw a group of people gathered in front of the glass door. The sound of quarreling came into his ears through the crowded crowd. Claire was a little confused. What was going on so early in the morning?

Grace squeezed out of the crowd with a pile of information in her arms. When she saw Jade, she looked her up and down with a look of hostility and a hint of anticipation. Claire's gaze turned cold as he looked at her, but he still had a smile on his face. "Good morning, Sister Ling."

Grace did not respond to her greeting, but said: "Manager Zhang and Manager Sheng are arguing, why don't you go over and take a look?"

Manager Zhang is the department manager of Claire's department. Although he and Jade had some conflicts before, they still maintained superficial peace. Listening to the quarrel, it seemed like Manager Zhang was unilaterally making things difficult for Jade. Although she knew that this was a trap set by Grace and she might become a target if she went over, Claire still pushed through the crowd and squeezed over.

When two managers are arguing, it is impossible to have all their subordinates come to watch. This is intentional.

Seeing Claire coming, Manager Zhang turned her gun around and pulled her over by the collar. Her tone was sharp and urgent. She asked angrily: "Lily, how have I treated you during the few days you came in for internship? I didn't make things difficult for you, did I? This design led to low sales of the product, but I didn't hold you accountable. I felt sorry for you as an intern who couldn't bear such a big responsibility, but you turned around and betrayed me to Jade, didn't you?!"

Claire looked at her with a calm expression and deep eyes. He was not frightened by her questioning. "Manager Zhang, I have never betrayed you."

"You haven't betrayed me?" Manager Zhang was so angry that he almost laughed out loud, "Then how come Grace and the others saw you getting into Jade's car? And they said they were going out with me to discuss business, how come I didn't know about this?"

Jade took a step forward, his tone somewhat cold: "I called her away yesterday and asked her to print some information for me. Do you believe what Grace and the others say?"

Then, she looked around at the people watching the fun and said, "What's wrong? Have you finished all the projects on hand? Why are you so free?!"

Her tone was not polite, and coupled with her usual majestic image, her subordinates immediately scattered.

She didn't care before because it didn't involve Claire, so she didn't care. She wanted to see how stupid Manager Zhang could be. When Manager Zhang yelled at the top of his lungs, she basically just sneered. But now that Claire was here, she couldn't let Claire be laughed at.

Moreover, Manager Zhang pushed Claire just now, which made Jade even more unhappy. She narrowed her eyes maliciously. Claire should be in her department, so she would snatch him away even if she had to.
