All of Wakanda's vibranium was indeed taken away by Konoha, but Konoha did not do much to the people of Wakanda.
Except for those who died in battle and the stubborn ones who resisted on the spot, most of the people of Wakanda survived.
Even the former king of Wakanda, Black Panther T'Challa, is still alive and well.
It's just that he no longer has the Black Panther suit and the extraordinary powers granted by the "Black Panther God". He has turned from a superhero whose strength far exceeds that of normal people back into an ordinary person.
"That's not the case. They just hope you will be released, but they didn't say they must release you."
