The first year of Jianwen
In the first month of the year, there were several heavy snowfalls in Beiping, and the sky was so gloomy that it never cleared up. There were ice edges several feet long under the eaves. When broken off, they were strong enough to punch a hole in someone.
The defenders on the city gate stamped their feet vigorously and rubbed their hands. Thick cotton was added to their coats, but they still could not block the biting north wind.
It's getting colder every year, and God seems to be angry, forcibly preventing people from having a good life.
In the wind and snow, several fast horses galloped from the south. The knight on horseback set out from Nanjing with the emperor's new edict, covered by the stars and the moon, traveled day and night, and finally arrived in Peiping before February.
