On Christmas Day, Chihori happened to have no classes in the afternoon, so she returned home early from school and prepared to cook the turkey herself.

After entering the main house and meeting Mr. Kobayashi who was busy decorating the house, she changed her shoes in the entrance hall.

When I passed the living room, I unexpectedly saw my youngest son sitting cross-legged under the Christmas tree. At his feet were piles of gold and silver wrapping paper, and colorful ribbons were coiled all over the floor. The boy was wrapping gifts of various sizes.

"Mother." Connor Tang greeted her, tied a beautiful bow on his hand, and hung a gift the size of a jewelry box on the treetop. Then he turned his head to look at her, "You're back so early today? Is father coming back soon?"

Chiho-ri held the off-white leather bag in front of her with both hands. She tilted her head slightly to look at him with a quiet and relieved smile on her face: "There are no classes this afternoon. Your father is still at the company, but you agreed to be home before dinner."
