Sangmu Wharf extends from the river mouth in the north of the city to the weaving factory in the south of the city, a total of more than four miles, and it takes at least two quarters of an hour to walk.
From north to south, there are twenty steps leading to the water, and ten wooden bridges extending to the sea surface, all made of the finest sunken wood.
Each bridge is two hundred meters long, with a hundred-foot pole at the end of the bridge and the flag of the Chu State hung on the top.
When the sea breeze blows, the flags flutter.
Below the flag, two of the wooden bridges were already filled with monks waiting to go out to sea. A rough estimate showed that there were no less than a hundred of them.
